My Story

I'm Ryan and 5 years ago, my best friend Aaron Murphy passed away at the age of 11 from Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer which affects approximately 100 children between the ages of 0 & 14 in the UK per year. Team Jak gave the most incredible support to me and his other friends, his family and Aaron himself throughout his cancer journey, providing us all with incredible and extremely helpful emotional support before and after his passing. Jak's Den in Livingston is the HQ of Team Jak. It is a space in which children suffering with cancer, and those close to them can take their mind off things with specially trained staff on hand to talk to and give support with mental health. Team Jak has purpose built facilities, such as a video gaming area named after Aaron, allowing children to socialise, and share in their experiences. Without the support I received, I genuinely have no idea where I would be now. It is a charity I will always hold close to my heart. Any donation will be appreciated deeply by me, his friends, family and the charity themselves. Thank you and wish me luck!
